ABOUT US

Chatham Hill Mosque serves as a welcoming hub for the Muslim community across Medway and Kent. Rooted in the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah, our mission is to offer a space of worship, reflection, and connection for individuals and families of all backgrounds.
We host daily prayers, Jummah, Islamic classes, youth programmes, and community events — all designed to uplift and unite our growing congregation. With a focus on inclusivity and service, we aim to meet the spiritual and social needs of both the present and future generations.
Our vision is to be a centre of excellence built on the values of integrity, transparency, and ihsan (excellence). Through open communication and community support, we continue to expand our services, maintain our facilities, and nurture the next generation of confident, connected Muslims.
HISTORY OF MASJID

Chatham Hill Mosque was formed as the Kent Islamic Centre in 1983
Upstairs was used as the mosque and downstairs was occupied by the Red Cross, the whole building was eventually transformed to the Kent Islamic Centre and used as a Community Centre.
The Mosque was founded by the Bangladeshi Community from all over Kent. Since 1983 Chatham Mosque has come a long way, it has now had new work carried out with an extension, a total refurbishment. It was all made possible by the support and generosity of the community.
There are so many people that helped build this mosque and create what it is today.
Unfortunately, some of these people are no longer with us, and without them it would not have been possible.
Our journey continues.
